Life at QSDS

QSDS offers convenient housing right on the Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD)

Housing for QSDS students will be in the newly renovated Schottenstein Residence Hall,  right next to the Crane Center For Design, where most of the QSDS classes are held. The beautiful CCAD gardens are right in front of the dorm.

Each dorm suite has two one-person bedrooms, one bathroom and a shared common space. The common space has a counter, shelves, wastebasket, small storage unit, table and two chairs.  The bathroom has a toilet, shower, shelves, mirror, sink and wastebasket.  Each bedroom has one low bed and one high bed (high bed can be used for storage), 2 dressers, wardrobe, wastebasket, workspace/desk, and stools.

The suites offer free broadband internet, free local phone service and free basic cable. (TVs are not provided in the bedrooms). The open-lounge community spaces on each floor are near the residence hall entrance. These areas are great places for relaxing and socializing. There are comfy couches, end tables, a full sized refrigerator, one or two microwaves, soda and snack machines and a television. Schottenstein has a free laundry facility where you can wash clothes for free and a workout room open 24 hours a day.

The cost for a private bedroom and shared bathroom in a two-person suite is $58 per night. Housing for a five-day session is $348 and a two-day session is $116.

You may purchase each meal separately at the door, or you can buy a discounted rate meal card that covers 10 meals. Meal cards can be purchased at check-in when you arrive at QSDS.

Information and standard CCAD menus are available at www.ccad.campusdish.com.

Additional Dining

The Hills Market – Downtown is adjacent to campus. Here you'll find a full array of food choices, produce, a deli and kitchen, pre-made specialty foods, a coffee shop and bakery. There are also several restaurants nearby campus if you wish to dine out.

There are other grocery stores near QSDS: there is a Kroger about two miles southwest, and a Giant Eagle about two miles directly south.
